The Spiders, the Irish Oscars for all things digital, takes place in the RDS on 21st November, and the shortlist is announced today.
The Spiders, Ireland’s premier digital awards are back with a new and improved approach. The World Wide Web celebrates 30 years in existence this year, and the Spiders have been around for 24 of those. Although the Spiders have traditionally been focused on websites in the past, it has now transformed to encompass everything to do with digital, ensuring a complete 360 approach to showcasing excellence across the spectrum.
Managing Director Tracey Carney says:
“The world has gone through a digital transformation and so too have the Spiders. We have designed the categories under three core pillars–Campaign, Create and Industry. These pillars celebrate the intersection between the human, the brand and technology. Our judges are looking for companies that are delivering best in class customer experience by harnessing the power of digital.”
As in previous years, a special recognition award will be awarded to a Digital Hero, a true leader of digital in Ireland.
The winners of the iconic Spider trophies will be announced on the 21st of November 2019, at the Concert Hall, RDS Dublin. Expect a night of black tie glamour with the ‘who’s who’ of Irish Digital.
As this year also marks the very important anniversary of the 30th year of the World Wide Web, the evening will include a celebration of its humble beginnings and the key milestones that have led to this year’s transformation.
