UK-based invoice finance specialist Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has grown its team and appointed Jade McClellan as a relationship manager for trade finance and business loans.
McClellan moves from Distribution Finance Capital where she held the position of collections and audit manager. Prior to this she worked at BFS as a trade finance risk manager for six years.
In her new role, McClellan is charged with delivering funding solutions to SMEs that trade both domestically and internationally.
She is based in BFS’s Manchester office, and reports to Gary Griffiths, managing director of trade finance.
“In light of current economic uncertainty, it’s more important than ever that we provide SMEs with the funding solutions they need to make the most of the opportunities that global trade can offer,” says Griffiths.
As Brexit rumbles on, UK SMEs have struggled to put steps in place to prepare for a no-deal fall out. New research from the Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) first UK-wide small business assessment of no-deal preparedness has found only one in five SMEs have planned or prepared for a no-deal, and nearly two thirds don’t think they can prepare. It’s led the FSB to call for wide-reaching measures in an early budget to boost small business cash flow, including a temporary reduction in VAT.
